1. Purpose & Scope
This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) outlines the rules governing the type of content, websites, and e-commerce stores permitted on our web hosting infrastructure. By registering an account or hosting a website with us, you agree to comply with this policy fully.
2. Prohibited E-Commerce & Content Categories
You may not use our hosting services to display, market, advertise, or sell any of the following item categories:
- Tobacco and Nicotine Products: Any electronic or traditional tobacco products, cigarettes, cigars, hubbly/hookah tobacco containing nicotine, e-cigarettes, vapes, or nicotine-containing e-liquids. (Note: Non-nicotine, 100% herbal hookah molasses and smoking hardware like glass pipes are permitted unless restricted by downstream payment providers).
- Unlicensed Liquor Sales: The online sale or distribution of liquor, beer, wine, or home-brewed alcoholic beverages (Umqombothi) without a valid provincial off-consumption liquor license clearly displayed on the site.
- Regulated Medical & Health Claims: Any traditional medicines (Muthi) or complementary health products making unverified, non-SAHPRA-approved medicinal claims to treat, prevent, or cure human illnesses.
- Adult and Erotic Content: Pornography, sexually explicit imagery, and adult webcam hosting.
- Financial Schemes & Unregulated Services: Cryptocurrencies, Forex trading schemes, multi-level marketing (MLM), or cash-investment models.
- Weapons & Ammunition: Firearms, pistols, rifles, ammunition, knives, daggers, pepper spray, tasers, or self-defense weapons.
- Counterfeit & Replicas:Knock-off luxury goods, replica products, “AAA grade” or “mirror quality” counterfeit items, or unauthorized authentic products that breach intellectual property laws.
- Gambling & Fantasy Sports: Online casinos, slots, betting, lotto/lottery, poker, or unlicensed gambling and fantasy sports operations.
- Financial & Document Fraud: Fake IDs, payslip templates, credit repair services, bank statement editing, passport replicas, or any materials intended to facilitate identity theft or fraud.
- Regulated Plant & Animal Matter: Abalone, perlemoen, ivory, rhino horn, bulk biltong export, unprocessed gold, rough diamonds, or any trade in indigenous and protected species without the required permits.
3. Compliance with South African Legislation
All hosted websites, marketplaces, and sellers operating on our network must strictly adhere to national statutory regulations. Failure to do so will result in immediate service suspension:
- POPIA Compliance: Merchants collecting personal client information (names, shipping addresses, phone numbers) must display a clear Privacy Policy.
- ECTA Compliance: Online stores must respect the mandatory 7-day cooling-off consumer refund window as dictated by the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act.
- PAIA Compliance: All businesses must publish their required PAIA information manual on their website footer.
4. System and Resource Abuse
Websites on our network must not degrade the server experience for other platform clients. Prohibited operational actions include:
- Running cryptocurrency mining scripts or background miners.
- Using shared hosting packages as mass file-storage or file-sharing repositories.
- Sending bulk unsolicited commercial email (spam) or hosting phishing nodes.
5. Enforcement and Takedown Requests
We reserve the right to review, quarantine, or permanently terminate any hosted account found in violation of this AUP. If we receive a legitimate abuse report, Digital Copyright/DMCA takedown notice, or notification from financial providers or payment processors, your storefront or site may be suspended instantly without prior warning while a formal investigation takes place.
